Megan & Ben’s Wedding at Belton Woods – Bubbles, Laughs, and All the Feels

Ben & Megan’s day was a solid one from start to finish.

I arrived bright and early at the Airbnb where she and the girls were getting ready and honestly, it didn’t take long before I’d basically become one of them. You’d be surprised how immune you get to all the girl talk after a while, and now I just join right in. It’s all part of the fun!

Little Skye was running around being her playful self, showing off her very cheesy grin that she’s clearly been practising, proper heart-melter, that one. The morning had its fair share of chaos (as they always do), with hair and makeup doing their last-minute touch-ups and the final flurry before heading out.

I had my second photographer, Adam, with me for the day too who is an absolute legend. He was a huge help keeping things running smoothly, especially during the prep with the lads and the  ceremony. Having that extra pair of eyes meant we could capture every angle, every reaction, and all those little moments happening in the background.

by the time we’re into the afternoon, I just feel like part of the wedding party!

Working alongside Tom, the videographer, we managed to capture everything we needed before the mad dash to Belton Woods. That’s where Megan’s dad got to see her for the first time, such a lovely moment. And seeing little Oscar arriving in his electric car was adorable.

One of my favourite moments was Ben getting emotional listening to a little voice message from Skye before the ceremony. You could just feel the love in the room.

Instead of confetti, Megan and Ben went for bubbles which was brilliant fun… until we got completely overwhelmed by them! Let’s just say I’ve got a few shots where the bubbles are in perfect focus, but the bride and groom are hiding somewhere behind them. Lesson learned for next time!

The group photos out on the golf course were a laugh, followed by some really fun couple portraits. We got creative with the lads too, found a unique angle for one of the shots that had everyone cracking up. That’s one of the things I love most about wedding days, by the time we’re into the afternoon, I just feel like part of the wedding party. Everyone’s relaxed, having a laugh, and you just go with the flow.

The speeches were spot-on. Ben’s words to Megan were beautiful,  properly heartfelt and you could see just how perfectly matched they are. Then the best man came in with pure comedy gold; very theatrical and absolutely hilarious.

The night wrapped up with a sparkler exit, which was every bit of a laugh as it sounds, followed by the first dance and a proper party to end the night.

All in all, an amazing day full of laughter, emotion, and a ridiculous amount of bubbles. Massive shoutout to Adam for being such a great help throughout couldn’t have asked for a better wingman.

Whether it’s a big party or an intimate "screw tradition" kind of day, I’m all about capturing the real stuff — no awkward posing, no cheesy moments, just your story told right.
