A Scorcher of a Day at The Dower House: Paige & Joe’s Epic Wedding

When I first met Paige and Joe at The Dower House a couple of years ago, we clicked instantly. By the time their wedding day arrived, everything felt completely natural—the atmosphere was relaxed, everyone was up for a laugh and the whole day was filled with brilliant energy.

The morning began with Paige and her bridal party, surrounded by a brilliant hair and makeup team. The room was filled with laughter, jokes and plenty of people taking the mick out of one another—the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed wedding morning.

Once Tom from Marvellous Videography arrived, we started photographing the details. Paige’s dress looked incredible hanging from the garden archway, framed by the willow tree, before we moved on to the flat lays and smaller parts of the day.

Joe arrived around midday looking understandably nervous but more than ready to get married. We captured a few relaxed photographs of him and the groomsmen in the bar, where a couple of drinks helped settle the pre-ceremony nerves.

It was pure chaos, pure joy, and the perfect welcome for the newlyweds!

Back at the bridal suite, Paige’s mum helped her into her dress. We moved the room around slightly to make the most of the light, something venues are probably used to me doing by now and before it was time for the first looks.

The bridesmaids were first, followed by Paige’s dad, who looked brilliant in his full Scottish kilt. There was a slight wardrobe malfunction along the way, but luckily, a tube of superglue came to the rescue.

The ceremony was beautiful, emotional and incredibly warm—in every sense of the word. Despite the heat, Paige and Joe looked amazing as they stood together and finally said their vows.

Afterwards, a particularly important guest joined the celebrations: their dog, Maris.

With the temperature still climbing, we headed into the shaded woodland for a relaxed walk and a few family photographs. It gave everyone a welcome break from the sun while creating some lovely, natural moments.

The group photographs followed, although a few guests had understandably disappeared towards the bar. We kept everything relaxed, gathered everyone as they reappeared and still managed to work through the list without taking too much time away from the celebrations.

We also captured a few fun photographs with the bridesmaids, including the classic linked-arm walking shot that always ends up creating more laughter than actual walking.

Paige and Joe had also been practising a dip for their first dance and decided to give it a trial run. They nailed it on the first attempt, which is far more impressive than most couples realise.

The wedding breakfast flowed into the speeches, with a surprise PowerPoint showing Joe through the years quickly becoming one of the highlights. It brought plenty of laughter, but underneath all the jokes, you could see just how much love and pride there was in the room.

As the evening became cooler, everyone spilled outside to enjoy the shade. Paige and Joe were surrounded by an incredible group of friends and family, and watching everyone relax and celebrate together summed up the whole day perfectly.

The cake cutting did not go entirely to plan. Paige and Joe got slightly ahead of themselves and cut it before the DJ had finished his countdown, which meant we had to quickly recreate the moment.

Thankfully, it only made it funnier.

From there, it was straight into the first dance. The dip made another successful appearance, followed by a confetti cannon that caught me completely off guard—but we still got the photograph.

The dance floor quickly filled, and the rest of the evening was spent exactly as it should be: celebrating, laughing and dancing.

Paige and Joe’s wedding at The Dower House was relaxed, personal and full of genuine moments from beginning to end. Even with the intense heat, nothing stopped them or their guests from making the most of every part of the day.

Paige and Joe, congratulations to you both.

It was a genuine privilege to photograph your wedding and finally see all the plans we had spoken about come together. Thank you for trusting me to capture such an important day.

As a Lincolnshire wedding photographer, I love documenting relaxed weddings at The Dower House and venues across the UK—capturing the real moments without making the day feel like one long photoshoot.
