This isn’t just another vendor you’ll tick off your list, your photographer will be by your side for most of your wedding day, so it’s important to feel comfortable and at ease with them.
Start by digging into full wedding galleries (not just scrolling Instagram highlights). Do their photos make you feel something? Can you see yourselves in those moments, laughing, hugging, dancing, tearing up? The best photographers don’t just take nice pictures, they capture the vibe, the emotion, the tiny in-between moments that matter most.
Then, think about the energy you want on the day. Are you camera shy? Super laid-back? Do you want someone who blends in quietly like a friend in the background, or someone who brings a bit of direction and hype when it’s needed? There’s no right or wrong, it’s just about what fits you best.
